The Buyer Discovery - HubSpot overview dashboard
Using the Buyer Discovery properties on the Company object, you can build an Overview dashboard like this:
Overview
To Build this dashboard, you will need to create a new dashboard and add to it seven reports:
- Categories Viewed vertical bar chart
- Competitors Viewed horizontal bar chart
- Purchase intent grid
- Purchase intent KPIs
- Purchase Intent donut chart
- Product Awareness donut chart
- Engagement donut chart
Here are the steps to build this Buyer Discovery Overview dashboard in your HubSpot account:
Initial dashboard setup
- In your HubSpot account, in the top section bar, select, Reports, then Dashboards
- On the dashboards screen, select create a new dashboard.
- On the Create Dashboard screen, click New dashboard
- On the create dashboard side panel, Name your dashboard, select your access preferences, and click Create Dashboard
- Back on the Dashboard page, locate the dashboard you have just created and select it
1. Categories Viewed vertical bar chart
- On the new dashboard page, click Add report, then Create report
- Click on single-object, then click Next
- Select Companies, then click next
- Click on Add Company Property
- Search and select Category Viewed 1
- Click on Visualization

- On the Visualization tab, drag Category 1 Views, then Count of Companies, up to the Displaying section
- Click on the Filter button
- Click on Create date and set to "is all time" and click Update filter
- Click Add Filter and then select Category Viewed 1, select "is known" and click "Apply filter"
- Name this report Categories Viewed, and click Save, then Save & add in the next side panel
- Click on Exit twice to go back to your dashboard
2. Competitors Viewed horizontal bar chart
Now for the next report, as done above:
- Click add report, then Create report
- Select "single object"
- Select Companies, then click next
- Click on Add Company Property
Now for this specific report, search and select Competitor Viewed:
As done with the earlier report:
- Drag up Competitor Viewed 1, then Count of Companies to the Displaying section
- Click on Filters
- Click on Create date and change to "is all time", and click Update filter
- Click Add filter, search then select Competitor Viewed 1, select "is known", and click Apply filter
For this specific dashboard, choose the chart type as the second, vertical bar chart option, and change the color to Blue
Change the name of the report to Competitors Viewed, click Save, then click Save & add
Click Exit twice to get back to your dashboard
3. Purchase intent grid
Now for the next report, as done above:
- Click add report, then Create report
- Select "single object"
- Select Companies, then click next
- Click on Add Company Property
Now for this specific report, search and select:
- Company name
- Category Viewed 1
- Engagement
- Awareness
- Purchase Intent
As done with the earlier reports:
- Click on Create date and change to "is all time", and click Update filter
For this specific dashboard, under Visualization, choose the chart type as the last grid option, and for the Configure table field, select "Unsummarized data table"
- Click on the Purchase intent column label to order from High to Low
- Click save, then save and add, then check the dashboard
4. Purchase intent KPIs
Now for the next report, as done above:
- Click add report, then Create report
- Select "single object"
- Select Companies, then click next
- Click on Add Company Property
Now for this specific report, search and select: Purchase Intent
As done with the earlier reports:
- Click on Create date and change to "is all time", and click Update filter
For this specific report, under Visualization, choose the chart type as the second to last KPI option, and for the Configure table field, and drag up Purchase Intent and Count of Companies to the Displaying section.
- Click save, then save and add, then check the dashboard
5. Purchase Intent donut chart
Now for the next report, as done above:
- Click add report, then Create report
- Select "single object"
- Select Companies, then click next
- Click on Add Company Property
Now for this specific report, search and select: Purchase Intent
As done with the earlier reports:
- Click on Create date and change to "is all time", and click Update filter
For this specific report, under Visualization, choose the chart type as the fifth Donut chart option, and for the Configure table field, and drag up Purchase Intent and Count of Companies to the Displaying section.
- Change the report name to Purchase Intent
- Click save, then save and add, then check the dashboard
6. Product Awareness donut chart
Now for the next report, as done above:
- Click add report, then Create report
- Select "single object"
- Select Companies, then click next
- Click on Add Company Property
Now for this specific report, search and select: Product Awareness
As done with the earlier reports:
- Click on Create date and change to "is all time", and click Update filter
For this specific report, under Visualization, choose the chart type as the fifth Donut chart option, and for the Configure table field, and drag up Purchase Intent and Count of Companies to the Displaying section.
- Change the report name to Product Awareness
- Click save, then save and add, then check the dashboard
7. Engagement donut chart
Now for the next report, as done above:
- Click add report, then Create report
- Select "single object"
- Select Companies, then click next
- Click on Add Company Property
Now for this specific report, search and select: Engagement
As done with the earlier reports:
- Click on Create date and change to "is all time", and click Update filter
For this specific report, under Visualization, choose the chart type as the fifth Donut chart option, and for the Configure table field, and drag up Purchase Intent and Count of Companies to the Displaying section.
- Change the report name to Engagement
- Click save, then save and add, then check the dashboard
Rearranging reports in dashboard
Now with all reports made, in the dashboard, hover over a report to see the resize icon in the bottom right
Use the resize icon on all of the reports to make the dashboard like below:
