Steps for enabling the Snowflake-Salesforce connection via Salesforce Analytics Studio

Once you have created the Session Activity custom object and fields in Salesforce, you can configure the Buyer Discovery Source Intent Feature by following the steps below.

Instructions

Type ‘Analytics Studio’ from app launcher.

Click on ‘Data Manager’

Input Connections

First, we will create the Input Connections, which are the beginning data sets used in our data processing Recipes. There are 2 Input Connections that need to be created.

In the Data Manager, Click on Connections

SFDC_LOCAL Connection

The first Connection is used to accessing the Salesforce Accounts data, and is called SFDC_LOCAL. This should show by default on your Connections tab

  1. On the SFDC_LOCAL option, click the carat icon, and select Edit Objects
  2. In the Edit Objects window, Select the Account object
  3. In the Account object window, select the following fields:

Snowflake Connection

Click on the ‘New Connection’.

In the input connection type search Snowflake from search bar then select ‘Snowflake Connector’ and click Next.

The details will be specific to your implementation architecture, and your Fill in all the details and click ‘save and test’.

Once you create a connection you will be able to see your connection in the input section.

Click on accordion then ‘edit objects'

You will be able to see the table names which are present in the schema of snowflake and select those which are needed. In our case we need an intent and activity table hence we choose them one by one.

Select the fields which you want to map with salesforce fields.

Once you select the field you will notice an error sign. Click on the pencil icon and set the precision value as 255.

Once you are done with the process of selecting fields click on save button.

Click on ‘Run sync’ to sync the data of Snowflake. After that, schedule the sync according to your choice.

Output Connections

In this case 2 output connections will be created. One for sending the data from salesforce to snowflake and second one is for mapping the data from CRM Analytics to salesforce objects.

Snowflake Connection

Click on ‘New Connection’, then ‘Output’. After that, click on ‘Snowflake Output Connector.

Fill in the details as per your Snowflake schema, database etc. Then click ‘save and test’.

Similarly, to create another Output connection, click on ‘Salesforce Output Connector’.

Fill in the details of your org like username, password etc.

For service URL, try https://login.salesforce.com/services/Soap/u/50.0

With this you are done with both the output connections. Now its time to create the recipes which will map the data from CRM analytics to actual salesforce custom objects.

Recipes

Click on Recipe from the left panel.

Create the following recipes below to:

  • Send Accounts from Salesforce to Snowflake
  • Send Accounts updated with intent signals from Snowflake to Salesforce
  • Send Session Activity from Snowflake to Salesforce
